3/SENSE/SCENE/SCENARIOS is a triple bill program presenting new work by international guest choreographers and a new piece by artistic director Ton Simons.

trans-figure-action - Meyer/Chaffaud
In their work Jérôme Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud express their fascination with the moving human body as an instrument for sensual information, intuitive understanding, direct experience and immediate recognition. Both choreographers come from the Nederlands Danstheater 1 (NDT I) and have gained acclaim with earlier productions such as Diable au Corps and Compass for Fools.

´Expressive, brilliant.´ - De Volkskrant
´Convincing with their own signature.´ - NRC Handelsblad

Why Patterns - Jonah Bokaer
Jonah Bokaer (New York City) has rapidly established a reputation as one of the most interesting new choreographers in New York. He expands the possibilities of live performances with the use of new media and technology in multidisciplinary productions: the expressiveness of the human body in combination with new technology. He uses sound-interventions that play with the opportunities offered by every individual theatre.
Jonah Bokaer collaborates with, amongst others, Robert Wilson (opera productions Faust, Teatr Wielki, Warsaw 08 and Aida, Teatro dell´Opera, Rome 09). His production The Invention of Minus One won a Bessie Award for ´best design´ in 2008. From 2000 to 2007 Bokaer was one of the leading dancers of The Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

´His cutting edge work moves dance into the next century.´ - The Village Voice

Whitworth/Beesel - Ton Simons
Ton Simons collaborates in his new work with the British artist Andrew Lord. For this production Lord makes video installations with images of locations from his own (Whitworth, Lancashire) and Simons´ native region (Beesel, Limburg).
Simons is well-known as a master choreographer, ´an architect of subtleties´. His work combines lyrical beauty with brilliant structures on a rare level of craftsmanship.

´Simons knows how to keep the audience spellbound; breathtaking.´ - Algemeen Dagblad

The combination of these four choreographers and the beautiful dancers of Dance Works Rotterdam guarantees a performance you shouldn´t miss.
