Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam

Dance Works Rotterdam has a group of regular visitors who have formed an independent organization: the Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam. The aim of this organization is to give shape to its members’ involvement with the company.

This involves the Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam drawing the attention of a wider public to the qualities of the company and providing financial support for a variety of projects. For instance, the Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam funded the laying of a new floor in the studio at the ‘s-Gravendijkwal.

As of 1 November 2006, the board of the Friends is comprised of:

Dance Works Rotterdam greatly appreciates the support of the Friends and would like to offer something in return, namely:

• On payment of your annual contribution to the Friends, you will receive a ‘Friends’ Pass’ which is valid for one year.
• You are invited to every premiere and can request one free ticket per pass. If you cannot make it to the premiere or if you do not live close to Rotterdam, you can use your free ticket for another performance in the Netherlands instead.
• On production of the ‘Friends’ Pass’, you receive a discount on various items on sale at the publicity stand.
• If someone accompanies you to a performance, they receive 50% discount on their ticket price.
• A few weeks before a premiere, the Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam are invited to the dress rehearsal in a theater in the Netherlands, where the performance is put together.
• If you introduce a new Friend, you will receive one of the following gifts: a set of five beautiful postcards of Dance Works Rotterdam, a performance photo from the most recent production or a DVD with various recordings of our repertoire.

You can become a friend for only 18 euros a year (though, of course, you are welcome to give more). You can become a friend by transferring your contribution to giro account 93.18.898 in the name of Friends of Dance Works Rotterdam, in Rotterdam. If you do not wish to become a friend but would like to make a donation anyway, this is also possible. You can send an e-mail, stating that would like to make a donation, to and we will contact you.
