PETER STRUYCKEN (VISUAL ARTIST) - BIOGRAPHY

Galerie, De Expeditie, Amsterdam

Central to Struycken's work is the alternation and changing of color in space and time. On the basis of this, he generates computer structures which, in theory, are of unlimited dimensions of both space and time. This makes it feasible to design coloring for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects, as well as architectural spaces to any degree of detail, extent and complexity. For dynamic works, he uses computer-generated light.

His paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos and computer-generated light works can be found in the major museums of contemporary art in the Netherlands, where solo exhibitions of his work have also been held. He has created over 100 fixed works of art, ranging from the permanent postage stamp design of the Dutch queen, to large tiled works for architecture. His dynamic works range from computer-generated television works to changing colored lighting for buildings, dance performances and a fountain.
